The Purpose of Social-Emotional Learning (SEL)
We visit classrooms once every two weeks and provide 20-30 minute lessons using research based curriculum called Second Step. Each grade learns developmentally appropriate social-emotional skills that build from year to year. SEL concepts provide an extra dimension to education, focusing on improving cooperation, communication, and decision making. In a world where emotional intelligence is critical for lifelong happiness, successful careers, and healthier relationships, SEL gives students a framework for developing these skills.
