Wahpeton School District received Systems Accreditation through AdvancEd in 2016.

What is Accreditation?

Accreditation is a voluntary method of quality assurance developed more than 100 years ago by the American universities and secondary schools, and designed primarily to distinguish schools adhering to a set of educational standards. System accreditation nurtures and supports individual school improvement while aligning it with the overall School District improvement. The accreditation process incorporates a performance based model that has a five year cycle of continuous improvement.

Why Does Accreditation Matter?

Accreditation is designed to help educational institutions boost their ongoing performance efforts for the benefit of their students. Accreditation matters because students deserve the highest level of educational excellence possible.

How Do We Accredit?

Wahpeton Public Schools will work with AdvancED to accredit schools. The AdvancED Accreditation Process is comprehensive, evaluating all the parts of our institution. The process focuses on our vision and goals, evaluates teaching and learning, and examines how results are documented and resources are allocated. The five AdvancED Standards are the foundation of the Accreditation Process and serve as your guide to continuous improvement.
