Welcome to the 2025 - 2026 school year!

My name is Jake Dodge, and I am the 1st through 5th-grade Principal at Wahpeton Elementary School.  Our school consists of over 70 faculty and staff members and over 450 students.

 

I have been in Education for 27 Years. 6 years as a teacher and 21 years as an administrator in various roles.  I am married to my wife Tabitha, and we have six great kids ranging from 24 years of age down to our 9-year-old.  

 

I enjoy the outdoors and coaching fastpitch softball.

 

Wahpeton has been a great place for our family and offers many opportunities for children of all ages to be successful.  I look forward to meeting you and your family.

Hello, fellow Wahpeton Huskies, and welcome to the 2025-2026 school year!

 

My name is Colin Brownlee, and I am the new Wahpeton Elementary Assistant Principal. This is my first year in an administrative role here at Wahpeton Public Schools and in my career in education.  I'm very excited and honored to take on this role here at Wahpeton Elementary School. This is going on my eleventh year in the Wahpeton Public School District and my fourteenth year total in education. I taught 4^th Grade for three years, 6^th Grade for four years, 7^th Grade for one year, and 8^th Grade for five years before stepping into this new role as an administrator.

 

I've lived here in Wahpeton for all of my career in education. I am thankful for this wonderful community and proud to call it my home. I'm a proud father of my son, Weston. I enjoy the outdoors and activities such as hiking, biking, camping, and fishing. I love watching sports on TV and going to sporting events at all levels. I also love playing the guitar and listening to music. I’ve had the privilege of coaching 7th-grade football every year since joining this great school district, and I’m excited to continue in that role."

 

I very much look forward to serving all students, their families, and staff here at Wahpeton Elementary School in all grades 1-5 for the 2025-2026 school year. It's going to be a great, exciting, and engaging year! GO HUSKIES!
