 Mrs. Jessica Stoppleworth

Mrs. Stoppleworth grew up in Grand Forks, ND with her mother and little sister and in Ada, MN with her father and step-mother. She graduated from Grand Forks Red River high school in 2008 where she participated in band, choir, jazz band, orchestra, and music theory classes. Her first instrument was the piano, followed by the saxophone, violin, bassoon and viola. Mrs. Stoppleworth attended NDSU where she graduated with a Bachelors of Music in music education in 2012 and again with a Masters of Music in music education in 2019. In college she was a member of the gold star marching band, NDSU women's choir, NDSU Symphonic band, NDSU jazz ensemble, intercollegiate orchestra, and multiple small ensembles. Mrs. Stoppleworth worked in Milnor, ND teaching K-12 music from 2012-2014 before accepting her position at Wahpeton Middle School in 2014. She currently teaches 6th grade general music, 7th and 8th grade choir, 7th grade leadership and 8th grade guitar classes. She is a member of the North Dakota American Choral Director's Association, is a certified Kodaly instructor, and has also completed multiple levels of Orff training. 

Mrs. Stoppleworth enjoys spending her free time riding her Honda Shadow motorcycle, spending time with her family, cooking, playing video games and planning for all of the the great music-making to come!
